my aux input is quieter on both the decks that had it, no biggy to me, i just turn up the volume on the deck.

 

I know some guys who have used a CD changer to rca adapter to remedy a problem like this. They're pretty cheap and you can run your ipod through the CD changer port as aux.

so youre saying i can plug in the rca from my ipod into the cd changer in and it will work as aux in?

 

my ipod is hooked up to the aux in, and its 5-10 volume clicks quieter than a cd played through the deck. i think most are like that.

 

Oh ya I didn't realize you already have a CD changer input cord on that unit. So ya just plug your rca from you ipod into the cd changer input cord and see if that makes any difference.

Also does you ipod have a lineout? If it does you could try going lineout instead of coming out of the headphone jack.

 

Oh yeah, how long is the cable? in my crappy basement home stereo set up, when i have a short wire straight to the amp from my laptop it is MUCH louder than when i have a 20ft cable running to my desktop...
