Problem with components...
#1
It seems that the right side of my Boston Rally components plays louder than the left. The right side seems to be more vibrant and voices/sympols/snares have more sound to them. The left side sounds flat and dull, the right side really steals the show and shifts the soundstage way over.
I have them hooked up to an older kenwood amp and was wondering if maybe the left channel on the amp was acting up. Could it be the outputs on my Pioneer 720? Crossovers? Or the woofer itself?
Anyone had this happen? Or any ideas on how to a test to pinpoint the problem without having to rip everything apart in the cold?
Im going to quickly go out and switch the left/right at the amp and see if it switches the effect.
As cold as it is...it really bugs me that I know something is wrong...I wish I had the patients to wait until spring!!!!

try swapping rca's left to right at the deck
if no change the deck's ok
swap rca's at the amp
no change the rca from the deck to the amp is ok
try swapping speaker wires on the amp
if no change the amp is ok
swap crossovers from left to right
again no change crossovers ok
keep going like that ........eliminate stuff one by one
could also be seating/speaker position as stated above

I switched the speaker wires at the amp, didn't notice much of a difference. Haven't had time to do anything else since the car has been in the shop. I will update the thread when I get the car back.
On a side note...im kicking myself in the *** right now. My battery kept draining during these cold winter nights. I went out and bought a new eleminator for $170. I JUST remember that my MTX 500D is still hooked up (but not in use) and sometimes it won't turn off with the car. I remember hearing about a recall...but it only happens once in a while. I guess in the end I got a better battery for no reason...stupid stupid!

Don't bother switching any more wiring around until you listen to the speakers from the passenger side, if you took it as a wtf is he talking about, fool doesn't know anything, it actually may surprise you. Have a listen and post the results.
