...160 dbish for 30ish seconds is a long time (I assume the high volume microphone for the 3055, what freq, is the car sealed up or open) ... I dont think that that tarnishes the drivers image except for those who claim it to be indestructible... kind of a cop out excuse for smoking the woofers though... I think the "17000 watts" would be enough of a reason

I agree, I'm sure they pound, but for the money.... there's much better alternatives.

The clarion 32" is not a sub, but rather a "loud speaker". It's not designed for large excursion. I never considered that speaker as a subwoofer. Just never really liked it. The empty basket looked cool though. lol

30+ seconds alternating sine waves... I'm guessing big voltage drop which led to clipping. Also 17.2Kw. much more than the jackhammers are rated for

If they were running 17k aren't the jackhammers rated at 6k each so 160Db for 30 seconds at 140% max rms power and your complaining? It would be tough for any sub not to let it's magic smoke out under those conditions! True you can get more for the money, but it's like anything your paying for the name.

it wasn't 160. they used an RTA, should've used a TL
