Question

i have recently hooked up my phoenix gold ti 600.2 to my car and i cant stop the lights from dimming. i used to own a alpine amp and this would never happen then again the ti is much for powerful. i already have a cap installed and other people tell me to get a bigger alternator but is there another way from trying to make my lights not dim as much?

what kind of car?and do you know what your alternator is putting out right now? how thick is your power wire? does your amp have a good solid ground?

you might want to do the big 3.with the 0/1 gauge wire. do a search there should be quite a few topics about it.

0/1 ? lol

The big 3 is a good idea but 0/1 gauge is WAY too big for an amp that isn't even throwing out that much power.

I would say 4 gauge and maybe 2 gauge but I would opt for 4 gauge.

I have a 800 watt mtx and I just got a 400 watt mtx four channel on a 72 amp alternator with no upgrades to the car at all and no dimming.

you might want to look into th alternator and/or the battery. most importantly before you do any of these...make sure that your ground points and your battery connections and the amp connections are all clean and not corroded....make sure no loose connections and make sure that all ground straps are not corroded. then think about getting a battery and an alt at that point
