A question!
I have a line out converter that changes my high level input to a low level(rca's)to the amp, the question is does it really matter how good the rca's are(just a $12 gold plated set now)keeping in mind all I have is a stock deck. if it does matter considerably, what brand is the best?

I would advise against just going out and buying rca cables that are meant for home audio. If you dont want to spend a lot of money on rca's just buy the least expensive car audio rca cables. They have different shielding properties compared to household rcas.

If you are running a stock deck, I wouldn't worry too much about quality of RCA's.
Ideally, you would have a twist, shielded pair of cables, but if you don't want to spend the money, any cable will work. The main issue is you may pick up interference with a cheap cable due to a lack of insulation and poor conducting materials.
All in all, if you want better sound (which you may not even notice) go with better cables.
