a question about Boss amps

ok, i keep seeing these Boss Audio amps and i mean for the price they appear to deliver a huge amount of power, like 2000 watts for 149.99, which means i can afford to pay for school and upgrade my system, so now i've got a question for all those who are more familiar with the name...are Boss amps any good or are they too good to be true?

Pure garbage from what I can tell. No personal experience. I bet they produce half the rated power, all the cheap components will fry soon, or the amp will not play the specs in a month. I would stay away.

Garbage. They may SAY 2000W, but you'd be lucky to get 1/4 of that out of them.

We used to sell Boss Audio at a shop I worked at a while back, for a daily system where you just want some bass they are fine, they were pretty reliable not many warranty claims but that was around 2000 2001 so quality could have went since. as for rated power they don't come even close, If you look at there RMS rating you will see that a 2000 watt amp might put out 600 watts of distortion if your lucky more like 200-300 watts of somewhat clean power due to not so great power supply's and internal components

Hope this helps

Garett

BOSS is garbage. . . Like said above, it prob doesnt make 1/4 of its rated power, and it WILL likely die on you within 1 month. I dont even know why companies even put out that crap. Id be ashamed of representing them as a retailer. A sony xplode amp has a better chance of reproducing its rated power then Boss ! Not dissing sony xplode btw

Sorry guys, I can see now I was too generous with my observations of this amp lol

Fresh1, you'd be way better off spending same money on a used small brand name amp like Fosgate, Kicker, Sundown, Orion, Hifonics, etc. Anything is better than Boss actually, and as you can see, I did not want other brands to get uncomfortable, so I did not put them in the same sentence with Boss hehe You don't know how lucky you are for asking instead of buying that hunk of junk.
