I had one of the ones with VG2 winchi is supposed to be the tecnology that allows police to not see it. I got cought in NB and the cop says he had one of the older "radar detector detector" [img]smile.gif[/img] they will get you but for me it was only $144

I use an escort 8500. I got an insane deal on it, and I felt a radar detector was just a nice thing to have. I am no speed demon by any means, but the escort certainly works better than my eyes in detecting police. I have a 20 mile drive to work in the morning, and the traffic generally moves 15-20 mph over the posted speed limit for much of that drive. I prefer knowing where the police are in case 1 of them decides today is the day that somebody can't go 15 over the speed limit.

I believe, here in the US, the only places they are illegal are Virginia and Washington, DC.

Radar detectors are illegal out east as far as i know. They are in Nova Scotia anyway. I used a Valentine One before worked really well. Could even detect the automated doors on Sobeys.

My escort has a couple of places in town where it picks up stuff like that. You can adjust the sensitivity on it, but it really only happens in 2 spots.

I have been amazed at the range on this thing when it comes to picking up police cruisers. [img]smile.gif[/img]
