VIDEO: Amp Won't Turn On...?
UPDATE: Oct. 20, 2010
Proof that the amp works with a PSU.
BUT, it won't turn on in cars. I verified this with a co-worker's car.

Feedback?
I've ran out of ideas and extremely frustrated.
I've tested with two different RCA cables
Two different remote wires.
Used a PSU to turn the amp on and work a set of subs.
Checked and RECHECKED fuses over and over.
I'm seriously like "WTF" right now.

remote trigger is not working...the amp's remote turn on input is not seeing 12 volts as it did when you jumped it. Run the remote from a key on, fused (20-30 amp) circuit from your fuse box with a toggle switch to turn the amp on manually. Appears the head unit remote turn on lead is fried inside (fairly common problems with some head units).

I must have missed something there? The amp works when you jump the turn on from the b+ of the amp..right? Or is there no sound even when the amp is on? If that's the case, then you have multiple problems...which seem to come from the deck...the remote lead is not working and possibly the rca outputs. Easiest way to check all of that is to hook up a portable player to the rca's and jump the amp's remote on...if you hear sound then the deck is not outputting through the rca's.

First check DeadlySones suggestion out. It looked like it was just a blue cable that was attached to the remote cable. It's the blue/white cable for remote.
Also, is the amp grounded properly? A solid bolted connection with the paint sanded off of the metal of the chassis? I had a similar problem in my last install.. gave me similar problems as you had.. redid the ground to something solid and it worked great.

Trust me guys, I'm not a total noob to this kind of stuff. IT IS THE REMOTE WIRE!
Veeman:
Thanks a ton for the tips. But today at work, the amp also didn't turn on in my co-worker's car. We swapped out his amp to test mine and nothing. Didn't even turn on. Put his back in and it was all gravy. I'm totally weirded out right now.
Maybe the remote input on my amp is shot? But how often does that happen?! Like NEVER.
Despite all this, my crummy little computer PSU powers and runs the amp and pushes my subs.
WTF WTF WTF
Updating my first post with another video very shortly...

If the remote input on your amp was shot, your PSU wouldn't turn it on either. Did you test the (blue) remote turn on line to see if it has power? Also switch from CD to radio and see if that powers the line. Older HU use to only use one wire. a blue one, that came on as soon as the HU was turned on. Then they came out with 2 blue wires. One that is solid blue, will only power up when you turn on the radio (it's used for power antenna) and the blue/white wire powers up as soon as the HU is turned on.
Not sure how the power supply is turning it on, but neither car would. How are you turning it on using the PSU? Jumping a wire from power to remote? If so, have you tried that in the car? You need to test the remote wire at the back of the HU and at the amp. See if the remote wire has power. Also, switch from radio to CD and back to see if that makes any difference.
