remote level control???
ok I have a amp that has a remote level control... if I wanna use it.. where do I set the level on the amp... I am under the impression that the remote level will only turn up the vol on the amp as far as I have it set on the amp... is this true?

Hard to say .... some amps, the remote gain defeats the one on the amp. Basically wouldn't matter what the setting on the amp is. Full control with the remote ****.
Should be easy to check, just set amp gain low, plug in remote **** gain low, turn radio on, then try to adjust the amp gain ... if nothing happens then it's defeated and your remote **** has full control.

i haven't seen a remote gain that bypassed the amp gain. So most remote gains when they're turned up will only allow what the amp gain is set to. So, what you want to do is unplug the remote gain, set the amp gain properly, then plug in the remote gain. That's always worked for me with 0 issues
