Removing a Door Chime

I have a 2007 chevy silverado with the new body style and i used the Re-Q to put my stereo in to look stock and is sounds great but i can't open my doors to listen to music in the shop because of the stupid door chime. Is there anyway at all to get rid of this stupid chime because it is actually ran through my speakers and about to send me through the roof. I'm really hoping theres just one wire to clip and its over but i know thats not going to happen. Any help i could get would be awesome.

As long as the doorpin is in the door latch rather than on the door jamb, all you gotta do is take a screwdriver and close the latch in the door. That way the truck will think the door is closed and stop chiming. Just remember to pull the inside door handle to pop the latch before you close the door.

In the past I've resorted to filling door chime buzzers with hot-melt glue or cotton ***** to mute the sound. If your truck is sending chime tones to your speakers (wtf???) then an aftermarket HU should clear it up. What is Re-Q?

its a GM thing iv got an 03 alero and futureshop wanted me to buy a 150$ wire harness that would run from my new head unit to the stock in the trunk so that the door chimes would work, in the end i just got the normal 5$ harness and had to put a manual switch in to turn off the power to the head unit. i know its not realy the same problem as u have all im saying is GM just wantes to make their cars impossible for us to work on so they wire everything together
