Angry

I have a problem. I have a repair guy I used to take amps to and he used to get them fixed up fast and cheap. Last fall, I brought him my Tarantula to be repaired. I got it back in a month (already long for him) and nothing changed. I brought it back again and he basically took his time... I was busy so I gave him that time. I managed to get it back late January and although one problem was fixed, the other wasn't. So again I brought it back to him. I've been calling him now and he claims that it's all done and working, but not reassembled... its apparently been like this for at least two weeks now. He also promised that I would get it back way before May.

Everytime I call him he tells me to call back. When I call back he either yells at me for not giving him time to work on it and hangs up, or apologizes and tells me that he'll call me back. I've been extremely patient with this guy especially since he's had my amp for a total of 7 months!!!

I need some suggestions as to what to do to get my amp back. Because I've brought him so much business in the past, he never gives me a drop off tag so it's not like I can call the police or anything.

His shop is at Kingston Road and Midland called Electronic Service Depot, and the dudes name is Frank. What should I do???

And if he refuses? What then?

If you have documentation/proof/ a receipt, and he refuses, go to the cop shop.

If you do not...then you're in a tight place proof-wise, but generally polite stern insistence is helpful.

Barring that...stage a sit in or something.

I believe it's illegal to record a conversation without someone's consent

i think this is the part that is taking so long. ever thought that offering an incentive like a case of beer or a 50? he is a business and money talks and cheap bastards wait. not saying that you are but money is probably the root of this issue. guy probably has paying customers to take care off instead of a non paying warranty issue. so it sits and sits. Gain his eager cooperation by offering him money that you would pay another shop to fix it with. but give him a deadline. may 7 or nothing. and youll take it to someone else no matter what condition its in. and then be prepared to have someone else fix it. since i work in a warranty depot. i know that some older amps and amps with major problems sometimes will take longer to get parts. one amp had a part go down and it had to come from asia. ever wait for a part from asia. customs quarantined it for a month and a half. and when it arrived it was the wrong one. at the end was an angry customer that called the dealer every day. not sure what the solution is for you but try to appeal to what he likes to benefit you. good luck, kep us posted on the situation and the solution once you find it.

Its against the law to record someone elses conversation without the permission of at least one person involved in the conversation.... you can record your own conversations all you want...
