Replacing sub wire question

Can I use any wire to replace the copper wire , cause on my sub it's broken and when i solder it back together & the sub hits hard the wire just snaps off ( Need a little more play ) Can that wire be replaced with any type of wire maybe like a 18 gauge wire or does it have the be a certain type of wire??

That wire in the sub where the meter is hooked up ( those 2 little black wire in the sub )

It needs to be a tinsel lead wire.
Tinsel wire is more like a rope than an actual wire.
It needs to be very flexible, think of the job it needs to perform.
Best bet though is to remove the dust cap, and replace the full lead.

Also when your checking for impedance (ohms) you need to connect both leads from your meter to the speaker terminals, not one mounted to the basket....
