Replacment Tweeters For 2008 GMC Serria

As I hunt for the right setup for my 2008 GMC Serria Crew Cab I am finding more and more doors keep opening. I have now been told that if I have the 4 Alpine type R's @100RMS each and I add an amp to them, with a dual sub and amp for it and possibly a head unit that I should upgrade my tweeters as well.

Well I did not think of this and did not buy the set when I first bought so now I need a tweeter that will fit in the stock tweeter mounting place. I want to keep the factory pillar and tweeter cover. I do not want a tweeter that will stick out and not look stock.

My question is what is the size and mountign depth of the stock tweeter? Also what woudl a good replacment be?

My bill keeps growing and growing I started out wantign to spend $500- 800 then increased my budget to $1500-2000 now I think it will be more. This is the home theater all over again the wife is gona kill me.

Thanks
Phil

not sure if you wanna try this but a buddy of mine ran through the same problem
in an envoy...he grinded off some of the metal in his A pillar then used a 1.5"2" round piece of plywood then drilled inside to fit the tweeters ...clearance was pretty good excet you
would notice the black tweeter thro the grey pillar

use a component set for the front. remove the old tweeter and replace with new. DO NOT KEEP FACTORY X OVER. use the one that is supplyed with the type R. a 1inch tweeter should fit in the stock hole. if not its mod time
