RF amp settings/tweaks...any ideas?

finally installed my system - am using RF 500bd amp, pushing 2 JL 12W3V2 - now as far as the gain goes (i've got that figured out!) there's a built in crossover setting, says it ranges from 50 - 250 Hz. what does this setting do? i've fiddled with and haven't really noticed any difference either way, and don't know what i should/shouldn't be listening for.

as well as on my deck JVC KD-SH1000, there's a setting for the sub freq where i guess it excludes certain frequencies...same as above. no idea :|

thanks for anyone that knows what i'm talking about.

is the freq. setting a dial or just a switch?
as for the head unit, iv tried the different crossover settings on mine and none of them seem to make any diff in sound so i just have them set to off.

there's a dial for the crossover freq setting, then there's also a switch for LP - low pass... ??

Lightbulb

When that switch is set to Low Pass the **** will control how high the amp plays, i.e. it allows the lows through but blocks the highs.

Most people set this in the 60-100 range for subs.
