single amp system
Hey guys, I'v got a bit of a milti question today. So im putting together a system for my new 2000 mustang, which many know doesnt allow for much trunk space. Currently i have an older Alpine deck which gets me by for now, and Hertz hsk components in the front looking for about 125 watts rms. Originaly i was looking for a 4 channel amp that could power the components and a quality sub. The rears i was planing on running off the deck. My biggest troubble right now is finding a quality sub that would work fine off the 200-300watts that most 4 channel amps would put out bridged. I have had my eye on the Kappa Four which would put out 300w bridged at 4ohms. I recently stumbled across the JL 6600 6 channel amp that would put out a decent 75w times 6, along with many nice features. Any tips or ideas on how you would arange your best sound quality system with a single amp would be much appreciated. Thanks everyone!

I would stick with the 4 channel idea, that way when u decide to upgrade with more bass/power you wont be stuck with a 5 channel amp. U will still be able to utilize your 4 channel for highs and you can choose whatever u like for your sub/s.

but the zed amp can do 3way active witch is a plus or front active and run some rear cant go wrong with this in any way OR run 3 subs at 600watts rms a peace then u just buy a 4channel for highs.. possibilitys great with this much power out of a 6ch

i agree not to get stuck with the 5 channel in case you want to upgrade in the future.
for a decent sub/amp package that will save you tons of trunk space and still sound amazing,
Alpine PDX 4.150 w/ Image Dynamic IDQ
then I would say just don't run the rears.
you will be giving your fronts what they want, still have around 300-350rms for the sub.
and that amp/sub is a very very efficient setup, and doesn't take up alot of space.
