all those companies have very good sounding equipment...so it's kind of unfair to single out one of them. It really depends on what you're looking for and your application. I don't have typical SQ tastes in that I much prefer a brighter sound than most audiophiles would consider for themselves...bu that's me. Over the years the JBLs and Infinity have given me the sound I like consistently, but I have also loved Alpine's, Eclipse's, Quart, RF, polk and Kenwood's excelon line...just depends on my mood and if I want to try something different. One of my favourite speaker sets included polk eggs from the late 80's and Altec Lansing 6.5" midbass speakers...so sometimes mixing brands works well too.

stupid question.

the high end of any of those brands sound great.
the low end siht sucks.

Ignore brand names and compare sound.

very interesting.

well how about this, i mostly enjoy like rock, metal, alternative. what should i be looking for when choosing speakers for those types of music.
