A few weeks ago my son and I installed my 10 year old Kenwood amp and MB Quart front components. These have not been played hard and have been in storage for the last 7 years.

After a week I started to hear a crackeling sound coming from both right side speakers and then a few days later I could hear an alternator whine.

The rca's are not near the power lead and the ground wire is less than a foot long.

Tomorrow we plan on switching rca's and speaker wires to see if that makes a difference.

Any thoughts on what might be causing this?
TIA
