is it possible to put a deck for a 2001 alero into a 1999 blazer? i'm thinking the harness is going to be diffrent on the back on the 01 deck so would it be wise to grab that to just incase. i can get one for free from a car that my friend just totaled. and also this car has power windows, would it make any sence to take the modules out and try and put them in a 82 ford f-150? just to note i can get just about any thing i want form this car for free, so if i can i will take it. i just have to leave enough for the wreckers to get their hands on.

umm depending on the deck is the 2001 (which i think it will) uses a databus for turn on or if it has an ignition turn on. now if the 99 was a later model (i cant remember when they started doin that to the blazers) and it uses the databus then your good to go its just plug and play, if not then your not going to get that alero deck to do much of anything in the blazer. as for the window modules, gm modules going into a ford, buy an after market power window kit and possibly save yourself some headaches.

thx merlin. the windows thing was more or less just going to be for fun, my freind don't really need them, it would have just been a nice little project to do. and i think the blazer is a late modle 99. i'll have to double check with my mom(how sad is that).
