Which Sub To Get?
#11
With only 200Wrms I would get a low power high quality 15 and put it in a sealed box, or port it low...
15W0 would definatly fit the bill, maybe a 15 l5 or even a comp if you want to stick with kicker..
Once you go 15" you'll never go back..

Id say a ED 13kv.2 or a ID12v.3, both should sound top shelf with that power, and great SQ.
I am definetly against the MTX suggestion, have not heard a decent MTX sub that could keep up to quick tight beats.

I think the Comp VR 12/10 would be right up your alley.
I have a 12....off a small Rockford amp(350-400WRMS) it rocks. Tons of low end, very punchy IMO one of the best subs out there for the price.
I would also suggest going sealed with it....sounds much better than what I have(ported)

Is there a big difference between a 10" or 12" sub?
I've pretty much made up my mind to get the Image Dynamics sub but don't know whether to go with the IDQ10 or IDQ12
The Hifonic ZX8000 will do 200W at 4 ohms but is capable of doing 300W at 2 ohms (can I still run my other 4 speakers at 4 ohms and run the sub at 2 ohms?)
Would this be enough power for the 12" or am I better off with the 10"
Also, I want to get a sealed box for it, preferrably no bigger than 0.66 for a 10" or 0.88 for a 12"
Paul
As I mentioned before I'm more intereted in SQ rather than SPL (If you can't hear my sub outside my van, that's fine by me!)

12" will technically be louder as there's more cone area.
But you said you like classic rock and the sort so I would say a 10 would be just perfect.
Should have more than enough punch and still have some decent low end if you ever decide to listen to some rap/techno etc...
