I don't know how you feel about clarion speakers, but my younger brother just installed a pair of clarion carbon fibre pxw 10" in his mercury mystique and they sound great. He also listens to a lot of 80's and early 90's pop and techno. I had the chance of listening to them next to jbl gto and infinity 10w30 and they sounded better, deeper but not quite as loud. They cost about 160.00 and are the only subs at that price i have seen that come with carbon fibre cone stitched to the rubber surround and cast aluminium basket that handle 300rms. Like I said they sound really good, better than my jbl power series 12s with some material. Check them out you got nothing to lose.

That sub channel does 300wrms at 2ohms. Get something with DVC 4ohm coils and you wont be as starved for power.

How about a 10" L5 or 12" CompVR running at 2ohms?
