The T3-1000D should easily put out over 1000Wrms into a 4ohm load (testing by PAS revealed it to be more along 1600W) so that should be enough juice to run a type X if you go that way. However, you should know that the type X's are all dual 4ohm which in a single driver set up will give you a 2ohm load or an 8ohm load. The T3-1000D puts out 2700Wrms into a 2ohm load, which would cook a type x if your not careful. A two driver set up with the type X's would give you a 1ohm load or an 4ohm load. The T3-1000D is not 1ohm stable and 800Wrms per sub at 4ohms might not be enough. So IMO you should look at a different sub.

Uhh here we go again, now we can get into a 5 page debate of supporting local shops and warranty issues...
they aren't even authorized to sell alpine as far as the site shows.

^^no, we're all sick of it now, and we have all come to the conclusion that everyone is different and makes up their own mind as to what is right for them!!!

Have you considered a Kicker L7 model? These tend not to bottom out if you're tuning low, can handle 1000 watts no problem and have some good bump to them.
