suggestions needed

In my car I have a Panasonic deck, two 150 watt pioneer speakers in the front, two 250 alpines in the back, and a stock amp in the trunk (which was bypassed when I re-wired the deck+speakers).

Right now it sounds really rough whenever I want to blast my music...what can I do with about $1000-$1500?

Add a amp to power the front / rear speakers, add another amp and a sub(s). How loud are you looking to go and will you be wanting to expand on the system again in the future (better front and rear speakers for example)?

Nah, I'm leaving the country in 2009-10 and you can't take cars there older than 7 years or so. As for how loud, as loud as possible.

If all you want is bass, sure you can get loud but good luck being able to listen to your music as it will be all bass and nothing else. This is why you should add a amplifier to the front and rear speakers.

Would the stock amp help at all? If not, how much would 2 amps + subs cost with installation?

On a side note...are 150 and 250 speakers powerful enough?

Ignore the claims that the speakers make, they can claim it all day long. Reality is though, they produce what they are given and the power of a average deck on a good day is 18w rms. Add a real amp to them of at least 50w rms x 4 and then match up a sub and amp.

Yeah I knew about the part of them producing what they're given...although I didn't know the deck only does 18 on average

So 2 amps (same kind?) and subs (probably going in the trunk where the spare tire used to be) for 1000-1500...what brands do you recommend?

Also, will I need to do anything with the car battery/alternator?

Sorry....I'm just clueless about amps+subs
