System not quite complete
#1
Ok this weekend was busy on Saturday I installed my infinity's front and rear (sorry no pic's haha but I was pressed for time I needed to get them in and working for sunday's deck install plus it was dam cold in my garage. So to my question as you see in my sig I have a RF301x this amp is proving to be a little weak in powering my system I am looking for sugestions on amp combo's. Keeping in mind that I got my peepee slap by wifie for blowing the budget for the new speaks and deck plus other goodies (she won't find untill she gets the credtitcard bill ) So nothing to extreme. Looking for a stealthy install maybe a 5 channel???

How do you mean "weak". I have used as little as 35 watts RMS to each of four speakers and they got loud enough to hurt your ears when cranked up, how are your gains set? Any other processing on the deck used? What are the crossovers on the amp like. Remember you have to double your power to get +3 db, and you need 10X the power for it to seem twice as loud to your ears.

Yah its loud I guess I need to spend some time in tweeking But damn that Alpine I-personalize is just way over my head. If somebody could give a heads-up on it that would be a start.
My gains are set full with 1/4 turn back
Crossovers set at all pass for comps
low pass for sub
rears are fed by deck
The SQ has improved lots

Now if you have your sub on there too you may want to look for a matching bd500 for it.

At one point I was in the same predicament is you.....
since then I've sold the 4 chan.... been through a couple sub only systems, and now I have a 1000bd for the subs, and a 550S for my comps.... unfortunately, my car is and will be sitting on the side of the house and in the garage until sept. when I get my liscence back (long story) ...
