testing car subs in home.....
#1
the sub is a dual 4 ohm pioneer 1500w spl sub
can I safely test this on my home reciever?
if so, how should I wire?
stopped working a week before I stored my car for winter. not sure if its my sub or amp because I pulled both out as I stored my car.
any help will be appreciated

You can test your sub on your home receiver without problems. just wire up your pioneer sub in series.
Voice coil 1 Voice coil 2
Home Amp + ------ Sub+ Sub- -------- Sub+ Sub- --------- Home Amp -
It'll give you your 8 ohm nominal load, you can test to see if the sub works.
Realistically, there's more things to go wrong with your amp then the sub. I'd start with testing your amplifier for problems.
