They aren't meant to go in your daily driver's here folks so why bother with the "Oh it's too heavy", "It's too expensive", etc. BS.

Considering we're all car audio fans here maybe you should try giving some support for someone trying to make a product "out of the norm". The Jackhammer doesn't have to break any world records to be a success. It got people looking at MTX products so its job has been accomplished.
Naa see my problem is these mainstream companies and thier marketing BS... look at MTXs site on this thing... its all a bunch of fluff talk... fluff talk that you actually pay extra for...

Akin to paying too much for a chrome woofer that looks nice but is mostly a gimmick...

Companies that are really ahead of the curve come out with true innovations, not gimmicks...
</font>
Fluff talk and chrome sells. Do you not believe that RF sold more amps (especially in places like Futureshop) when they started putting the peak output numbers on their amps. Every 300watt amp they sold had a 900watt sticker on it and the kids ate it up. That's staying ahead of the curve. This is all marketing. Some BS and some not. So why spout off about the Jackhammer and RF15K when not you or anyone else has tested one?

Because I don't need to test one to tell you its fluffed up...

Reputable companies don't need to use these sorts of marketing tactics... and in the long run you end up with a better product at a better price..

Hence I bash because if people stopped buying into gimmicks we might see higher end gear at better prices from more companies...

Innovations in amplifiers has been an oxymoron for decades.

The new 'digital' (ugh) amps that run full range and actually sound good it an important innovation.

I'll be interested to see some pics of a person that has one of those Jackhammers in the back of they're SUV when they get into a head-on collision. Honestly.... I'd love to see the WOW factor when it cleans house on the SUV's occupants.

370pounds is enormous amount of wieght (in terms of enertia) in regards to an automobile accident. When those goons on "pimp my ride" built that car with the jackhammer.. I was seriously hopeing that car would never be driven again. That gigantic sub needs to be VERY well braced to the frame of the car to avoid flying forward like a wrecking ball in the event of an accident. The metal supports they used were a joke. Just the bare minimum.

I hope whoever brought that death trap will never drive it.

I'll be glad when the last Jackhammer rolls off the assembly line. Thats for sure.

So can every piece of crap sitting on the rear decks of most cars you see driving around town.
What's your point? Safety? Didn't you get a major ticket for street racing?

</font>
Well I wouldn't call class 'I' very old technology.... And I beleive they put a spin on it with a similar psu to a class H.. I've heard this amp designated class 'M' by others..

Note this amp is conservativly rated, with the capabitities to put out more then 8k RMS continuously, over 10K RMS on dynamics, and burst output in excess of 20kw RMS... (according to andy w. on carsound)

Look at the rest of the features and crown/JBL's track record for quality and you know this amp is world class... (probably the best there is IMO.)

Ahh ya... a few decades ago all you had was A/B class amplifiers...

now we have D, full range D, Tripath, I, and I don't think G and H designs are that old either...

i cant wait till some one actually does.

yes its big heavy and pointless for 99% of us but there is alot of cone area and max.its going to move alot of air.
but as it was stated before this is not the point of the sub its to generate intrest in mtx which it has.....
