I have an Eclipse CD3434 deck, 2 alpine amps and alpine speakers all around. I am upgrading my 5¼ door speakers to type R components this weekend, and switching over from deck power to alpine amp power. I listen to Rock and metal with everything in between. Alot of CDs will sound totally different from the next. The deck itself has very little EQ control. I am thinking of getting an EQ....I was looking at going with the Eclipse 21000 or, if I can afford it...the 21010. Does anyone have any experience with either of these EQs?

I have used an eclipse 2101(pretty much identical to the 21010 except the 21010 has a blue lit ***), and it was a great in dash eq. As mentioned, check the classifieds, you might find a good deal on a used one.

 

Save your money and get better speakers. Most eq's are band aids for poor speakers or poor mounting locations. Should you have to get an eq, my bet is for the 4.1 or the DQT like Dave suggested.

 

I have an Alesis MEQ-230 for sale. It's a 30 band stereo studio EQ. It is a rack mountable unit and I hate to see it go. However i'm in no need for it anymore. The 7 band eq on my Sony deck does enough. I'm selling it for like $140 cdn.
