Trying to decide between a couple of woofers
I have been looking online for the last couple weeks for a new sub woofer. I have a big audiobahn importal series 12 in a 2cf box right now thats way more then I need and doesn't blend as well as I want it too. I am looking for something that will give me that "tight or punchy" sound with a bit of output still. Really I just want to hear what I am supposed to hear. I am always disappointed after listening to dubstep songs using my Shure studio monitor headphones then in the car. I have wide music taste mostly classic rock with everything from country to rap mixed in.
The subs that I have looked at so far are;
Sundown Sa-10/12
SKAR audio 12
RE SEX
JBL GTO
JBL P1
Mach 5 IXL
Boston Acoustics G3-12
JL 12 or 13W3v3
The SKAR's look very interesting for the price, but based on the real desire for quality over quantity of sound I am more leaning towards the Boston G3 and the JL W3 based on what I have heard and that they will both work will in smaller sized sealed boxes.
Give me your opinions

with all due respect, tight punchy sound will some output and smaller sealed boxes dont really go hand in hand.
13W3 in a bit larger than spec sealed enclosure would be my choice, but give it more than rated power.

I've been using the Mach 5 IXL 12's for a couple of years now. They are the best sounding subwoofer I have had to date. And get loud enough for most. I hit 143db in my current setup with them on the termlab. Plus I like supporting canadian companies!

powerbass may be a great route, alot of punchy bass, low power. old style motor and basket. (there very small depth wise for the quality) friend of mine has 2 12"s bp subs on 500rms at 2 ohms. prefab box hit 139.9 subs had maybe 3 hours play time. not even worked in yet. plus there very inexpensive.

I have 700rms@2Ohms but really wont be listening to it loud so thats less of a concern to me.

I have heard they sound really good, the only reviews I see though put them more as a loud daily/spl woofer which worries me.
