if the EQ you mentioned is between the amp and HU try bypassing it (and remove power from it

so when you use a ipod to the amp (not ipod to deck)
but when you use a walkman (cd player )to the amp it does the same thing

this is just the amp in the car (no eq ,deck .linedriver)

GUYS-

The problem is that the amp is seeing signal ground from the HU as it turns off and on... the solution is to use relays with a short time delay that will keep RCA ground cut for a moment while the amp powers up, and another relay to keep the amp turned on for a moment while the deck shuts down......

If you look at the link I posted you will see 'POP ELIMINATORS' in the column to the left of the page... that site has what you need to kill the turn off pop but I no longer see the RCA relays for turn on pop....

If there is an EQ or line driver in the mix then their 'turn on pop eliminator' will work perfectly... you just delay the turn on of that component....

If your deck is what is sending signal directly to the amp the only other easy solution is to use your vehicle's asseccory wire to power up the amp and use a 'turn on pop eliminator' with the deck to delay its turn on when you first hit the key... (the downside to that fix is you will still get turn on pop if you power the deck down and back on again with the ignition switch turned on)

holy .. the problem is solved with the pop. The RCAs are now grounded. That solved the pop. And I spoke of NO EQ.

The EQ is from FusionMadsen who has somewhat highjacked your thread - I believe that is who John Vroom was responding to.

No doubt grounding the RCA could solve the popping; and if you are happy with that great......

having signal ground connected to power ground seems like a band-aid to me tho.... (mostly because it can introduce other noise)
