I personall would take the 15a in every situation except in a larger ported enclosure and with above 1000wrms. I would say if you can listen to them both and decide based on which you like better.
Listen to what your talking about!!!! You are talking a 15 with 1000watts of power. What are you expecting? Any decent 15 with that much power will rip your head off and unless you can tell the difference of tonal accuracy at 145db, I don't think it really matters. </font>
So you think sound quality is irrelevant at high power levels? I beg to differ...

Anyway, the point of the question is that I already have a 15A, in a small sealed enclosure. I've found a good deal on Titanium subs, and I'm trying to decide if there's anything to gain by switching up.

So I guess it's pretty well how I thought; lower-powered applications would go to the 15A, while the Eclipse would rule in a higher-powered setup. Guess I'll stick with the A for now, see what happens...
</font>
Where did I say quality wasn't irrelevant? You said "Yeah some people like quality sounding products not just BOOOOOOOOOMMMMMMMMM."
Now, we are talking about two very meaty 15" subs with 1000w rms. At the level that these drivers will reach with that power, I can't imagine anything sounding "good". Yes it will be hella loud, but sound good? I don't think so.
</font>
have you heard the e15a or titanium? My sub gets really loud and sounds damn good doing it.Back to strappingyoung, if you haven't ported the e15a, i would suggest you try that first if your looking for more output, why switch something without trying it in another application first.If your happy with the sq of the e15a but are looking for more output, port the damn thing.I don't think if you get the titanium and seal it, it'll be much louder than the e15am sealed.Remember sealed for sq and loud, ported for a little less sq but louder.I love the way my 15a sounds in its ported enclosure, very tight and accurate.If it sounds better in a sealed box i would love to hear it

I still don't get why sound quality would disappear at 1000 watts. My sub has amazing control and accuracy at 800 watts, and I don't imagine it would sound much different with another 200 watts. "Yes it will be hella loud, but sound good? I don't think so." If this was true, why would anyone invest in a W7? Wouldn't an L7 get just as loud, and sound the same?

u guys are argunig about something very subjective. both of u are right in your respects. that is all im saying. I also said that i agree more with strappin b/c i find his argument closer to reality of the situation than yours. reason i say that is b/c i dont thik the person who started this thread is really setting any goals to be taking home trophis from the IASCA SQ Finals. and even if he was eclpse still wouldnt be his choice of a sub. (neither would eD)
i think the person orginally asking the question is more interested in 'daily driver tight sound bass with music' sound good. In which case both subs would be sufficient enough. as with respect to a 'balanced SQ system', im yet to see a local kid with a audio set up to have a 'balanced SQ' system. everyone i know has their's set up to their preferance. some have more BASS and others have more Trebble. in both cases their systems sound balanced to them.

i dont know why u say that once again i show why im a beloved member on this forum? is it b/c i more agree with someone who disagrees with u? (althought i partially agree with u as well) or is it b/c i said that this post will get locked? (which it probably will b/c it has all the signs of heading into that direction)

^^^Tinted knows what I'm saying. And I still believe it is very possible to notice tonal differences between subs at high power levels. That's why I got rid of my Fosgate subs to begin with. The difference between those subs and my 15A is tremendous.

But in any case, I'm going to drop the subject now, because I hate arguing over stuff like this...

That's exactly what I meant. Honestly I could not drop that kinda bux on either of those drivers but that was not the question [/QB]
What kinda bux? I never mentioned prices for anything...

And at first I thought that you meant Eclipse was history, like in a bad way...
