What the heck is this????????????
Alright, I concluded that this has to be the cause for the whine that I am hearing out of my speaker. I ruled out these probabilities:
(Keep in mind, the noise only comes from my right speaker and it gets quieter and louder when my rpm's go down and up, the volume of the head unit has no effect on the noise, as long as the HU is on the noise is present)
-Reversing the rca input does not move the sound from left to right.
-Reversing the channels does not move the sound from left to right.
-Putting in a 2.5 foot long ground strait to the body has no effect.
-Running a new set of wires from the amp to cross over (these wires are not close to any other wire) has no effect.
-Running a new ground for the HU has no effect.
That means the sound is being produced after the cross over. I attached two pictures. I don't know what is in the picture but the camera was taken from the floor pointing up underneath the dash. The wires run up along this THING and I am guessing it is the reason for this annoying whine that I am getting. If not, I am soooo fricken lost.

Any ideas are welcome, I have ran out of them myself. (except for rerunning the wires away from the engine blower but I am not going to do that unless I get an educated recommendation because it took me a friggen long time to get those wires ran through the dash)

an easy way to find out is disconnect or pull the fuse for your blower motor. That one looks easy to get to. I've replaced them when they were burried a lot more than that.
It wouldn't cause engine whine anyway.
Engine whine is caused by your ingitian. (thousands of volts with almost no current go to spark plugs). all cars have it and most car audio components are made to reduce power supply noise. Have you swapped crossovers side to side? a bad cap, or bad connections within the crossover could be picking up noise. I accidentally crushed a cap on a hommade crossover (toolbox bouncing around the trunk) about 4 cars ago. Got a bad whine.
One side of the + or - speaker output touching ground will definately give you noise. Easy to check with a DMM or VOM if you're old.
