Whats the RMS on a Shiva?
#1
The website seems complicated on the power rating of this sub ...
Under the Pmax it says 375 per coil ...
Therefore should the RMS on this entire sub be 375 watts RMS since Pmax is peak?
I'm looking to get a pair of these ... Any other suggestions of subs? Only draw back, it seems everyone says they require a large volume...

Thermally you can probably put it to 250-300W a piece. Mechanically, I've been able to bottom out the sub in a 3CF box with 30sq port tuned to 30Hz with about 250-300W RMS total to the driver. It was loud.

For speakers, RMS normally means the thermal power handling of the sub.. Adires website lists the RMS as 650w's.
BUT.. RMS does not take into account mechanical limits (AKA Excursion limit).. As Fivelitermustang said, that limit is around 300w's depending on the enclosure. If its a sealed enclosure the power handling can be greater.
