No offense, but I would never buy anything from someone selling stuff on Ebay they do not have. 2 months? I would be even more pissed (and would report them to ebay). That is against Ebay's policies BTW. I don't know about you, but in Seattle there aren't that many nice months out of the year to put stuff in and get to enjoy it.

Either way, I guess one person's endorsement of a retailer could be another's bashing.

Oh, and I'm sure if Indo sends enough "gifts" and "warranty replacements" to Canada, they are going to catch on and really have a field day with it. Also keep in mind that if you send a $500 woofer over the border and declare it for $50 and it gets lost, the best case scenario, even with insurance is $50.

Honestly, I believe you are far better off purchasing your gear at a shop in your town that you trust -- especially one that takes time with you and teaches you about car audio. If something goes wrong, there will be someone to take care of you.

But I've never heard of any major manufacturers having LICENCED dealers online. I'd be pretty wary of buying from online dealers -- if they're not certified dealers for a specific manufacturer, the warranty should be void.

Before you purchase from an online distributer, check with the manufacturer to ensure that it's legit and that the warranty will be honoured.

 

I completely hear you. The problem with ebay is the seller has all the power. It is conventional to give the seller the money and then the seller sends the product. Once I gave Indoaudio my money they had complete power over the situation. If I left negative feedback or reported them to ebay, who knows if I'd get my amp or not.


For me it's a risk worth taking to pay $250 for an amp that would probably cost $500 at a local retailer here. I still recommend Indoaudio because the majority of their feedback suggests that they ship on time and that they do have thier product in a warehouse. As I said before, I simply recommend that if you're dealing with Indoaudio, make sure they are contacted before to make sure they have the physical product on hand.

As for the cheating on customs, you're probably right Juan.

 

Then you don't get out much. My employer is authorized by Rockford Fosgate, Polk Audio, MTX, Xtant, Infinity, JBL and a number of other brands. All you have to do is ask. Most manufacturers do not like seeing their stuff on ebay though unless it is end of life (old product or refurbished).

As for warranties, it is entirely up to the vendor. Some won't warranty at all, others feels that punishing a consumer for a retailers shady practice isn't the policy. It is all up to the retailer.
