Then go and make some money and stop crying about how little you make at the end of the day, after all this trade is what you make it. The that I do know is enough to know better then to get ripped off by money sucking leeches. It makes me sick that I have to go out of my way to get a fair deal in this country. I can see why you have your tail all up in the air about this issue, and there is nothing that I like better then to stomp people like you. But just like most things in life, things will sort themselves out. Car audio stores in my area are dropping like flies. Bottom line is that I can’t stand what you dealers do and how you go about doing it. You know that you’re a bottom feeder, all you’re doing is talking crap and yet you haven’t justified anything that I have asked about. I guess that’s not in your best interest. Either give me an answer as to why this over pricing is going on in Canada or go away.

its not the retailers who are to blame, its the Canadian distributors that, for the most part, are really unnecessary, if all the Canadian retailers could by direct from the united states, the retail would be lower and we could be more competitive. do i really need to buy my dash kits and harnesses from a guy in the lower mainland that buys them from just across the border, do i need to buy my alpine from alpine Canada when they buy it from alpine USA. its all the in between guys that make it difficult to be competitive with the us, not the retailer. eliminate most of the canadian distribution that add cost to the product and the end retailer, aka me, could offer you the product cheaper, but until that happens dont be a cheap dick and go by the dash kit and harness from your local store

I will point out two things though - If say something like a TypeR 12 is roughly twice the price in Canada as in the US at pretty much any shop you look at then doesn't it make more sense that the problem is the Canadian Distributor and not every single Canadian retailer? Personally I don't care to support manufacturers who have such large disparities in pricing.
Having said that - I cut 'some' slack to non-US companies. They face extra duties when importing to Canada. In my regular day job I import from many countries and I have to always be aware of additional duties when importing from countries other than the US..
So, basically, it's not always the guy you see on the other side of the counter that is tapping your wallet.

defro has a point but is it really the canadian distributors or do the american manufactures sell to them at the same price there selling to the retailers
as in Reekor statements that it is all the dealers is just wrong and way out of line
from somebody to make judgment on something they know nothing about is way out of line
its pure ignorance
sign of small brain syndrome
run your own store then spout your mouth as in you know nothing about it

i wouldnt say its just canada inflating the prices. im sure if you looked around you'd see that not everywhere in the states sells those type r's for that cheap either. how much do you think they cost in poland or moscow? probably 2x as much as canada at least.
