Where to get info on subs??
#1
Hey guys can anyone give me a site or place to go to help me understand what all the ###s and specs mean for subs in terms I can understand. Things like Xmas, Vas, QTS, and so on,I would like to learn more but dont really understand what all the abreveations (sp) mean. Also when I was up at show in Penticton I heard people talking about tunning to a certian frequency, how would you know what freq you want to....... as you can see I need alot of help in trying to understand this so any info would be great. Thanks

sorry to hijack.. while we're on the topic... for the most part whatever your Fs is, is what tuning frequency would be the most efficient for the sub/enclosure?
definately a good read, i just have to make heads or tails out of it. one of these days it just might make sense!
excellent question, Sr SQ.. i was kind of wondering about what they all mean myself!

Yeah thats the kind of stuff I'm trying to figure, like why tune to freq a instead of freq b and how those numbers come about? well theres lots to read so I better get at it.

Ok I dont seem to see what I'm looking for in the link to the Theile-Small Parameters
What set of letters denotes the subs volume it takes from the enclosure? In other words Im trying to figure out how much bigger I need to build the enclosure to make up for the loss in volume the sub takes up? Hope this makes sense
