Don cmon, ordering $60k of these amps in a year in Canada? You must be joking. How many people do you think will pay $2000 (after dealer mark up) + tax for an amp they dont really need? Realistically, if you subtract all of Canadian competitors who might be getting a "competitor deal" on these amps I doubt more than 10 of these will be sold to general public in Canada, at a profit.

How many DD Z1's have there been sold in Canada thru RETAIL channels? Maybe 3? And that's one sick amp. Just like with any BIG spl amp, as soon as it hits the market, Canadians will wait a bit and then buy used from US. OR they will buy direct from the manufacturer, who WILL sell to public regardless of how many promisses they make to their dealers/distributors not to do that.

I'm not trying to pick an argument with you, you are not some noob or an idiot and I have lots of respect for you. But that's just how economics of SPL work in Canada. It's been this way for as long as I can remember and I dont see it changing now. Especially not with the retarded Canadian dealer prices, which will be driven even higher due to constantly rising oil/gas/transportation/delivery prices. There is simply no incentive for someone to buy something like this at the retail price from a Canadian dealer.

Who is to say that a reputable competitor can not do everything that you mentioned there AND still do a number with it?

Look Hifonics sent their stuff to competitors, big and small. Worked very well for them. Same with Stetsom.

Im not saying one of these should be sent to me or should not be sent to you. These are just general thoughts.

Actually, its not that hard to make $10-$15k order every 2 months for retail gear. It may only have 2-4 big amps in it but the smaller 1k-3k amps sell like mad. 99% of the people in Manitoba and Sk. do not compete who would otherwise do decent at shows. Alot of people have close to 6kwrms in their daily driver who have never competed and could easily hit high 140's to low 150's.

I've seen dozens of Memphis 4k's sold and they cost more than a 7KD. SK. and Man. are very much different than Ont. in the fact that there is virtually no shows here. In fact its been almost 10 years since spl competition was big here.

I have been approached by other dealers who are interested in getting back into the competition side of the industry and doing shows but they do not offer product that can provide the kind of power needed out of a single amplifier. This is their biggest hole in their product line. So if you can imagine these dealers picking up this line and each selling over 10k every 2 months you get those conservative numbers pretty easy. I don't know the Ontario market so I cannot comment on that.

As I have said before Soundigital prices are quite high and the markup is almost non existant but that is something that can be worked on. And if the amp test out to do more output than say two 4k's or a stetsom, then this is quite a valuble amp.
I hope I get a chance to test the amp, if I do I will be trying to get it into as many competition vehicles as possible to see what it can do in various set-up's. Thats if I get to even see it.

I dont understand, if you want to sell the smaller amps then why do you need to be testing this one? Why not ask the manufacturer to send you a batch of their variouse smaller amps?

2-4 big amps in it per months? So that's at least 24 of these per year? I think you guys are being overly optimistic. You know as well as I know car audio scene is dead for at least 6 months out of the year.

All I'm saying is, same fate awaits this amp as many other big spl amps before it, when it comes to Canadian market. Just look at the past trends.

If you guys can sell $60k worth of this gear, at a profit, I would say that would be amazing and first ever in history of a foreighn spl product in Canada.

Why would I be interested in this particular amp? Because I have a need for 10 prepaid amps this size and possible 5 more depending on if I can find a replacement for the 7KD. 24 per year would be nice but I would expect more like 15-20 realistically for the first year then 10 or so per year after. Its not being optimistic when its already being done.

The survival of this product depends on the price to the end consumer and how much power is he getting for the money spent. The smaller amps of the same line normally perform better than the larger ones so its not a big deal testing the large amps.

X2 on sending Yuli this amp as well to test, gotta have both ends of the country covered.
