Hey Everyone,

The 7-channel factory BOSE amplifier in my Dad's 1993 Merecedes S-Class stoped working (popping and cracking noises). This is a common problem with this amplifier, and it needs to be "rebuilt".

The rebuilding involves removing and replacing each of the 78 capacitors in the amplifier. I have already bought the new capacitors off of DigiKey and was going to fix the amp myself, but decided not to as I am not an experienced sauterer. I have a chart detailing which capacitor # goes where on the board, so there is nothing to really figure out.

Does anyone here rebuild amps? Or does anyone have a good contact? Basically, I need someone who is a good sauterer. Everything is already figured out, and the part are already here. Is there someone here who could help me out? I would REALLY appreciate it!!

Thanks!
Bryan

Wow

I've fixed a few amps myself by replacing a few caps, resistors ans MOSFETS, but 78! That's a tonne of tedious work! All the best in getting that thing fixed.

ususally bose uses a nonconvential input level and the factory deck dosn't usually have enough output to drive a aftermarket amp properly

Replacing 78 capacitors is crazy.....

A half decent tech will be able to find the leaky cap(s) or bad solder joints.
