Someone is on the FutureShop website.
You can run as many amps as you like, but as Mat said keep it as simple as possible.
Makes it easier to install and setup, and faster to diagnose should you have a problem.

No its not bad, just whoever put the specs on the futureshop site didnt do a very good job.
I'd personally use the same amps.
Chances are you'd end up spending more money buying 3 400watt amps vs a single 1200watt amp in wire, install, accessories, and time.

I'm going to be running a pair of amps for my pair of subs.
But the amps are going to be strapped to a single load.

You are far better off going with one single large amp over multilpe smaller amps. Space used, extra wiring to connect the amp. Trying to accurately match each amps output to the other (they will all be different regardless of the claim of power on the amp or the manual), the use of power from the vehicle itself.

Know what it is that you want to do for a system. List your goals. What vehicle will this all be going into. What is your budget.

Unless you are prepared to buy used or entry level (as in cheap a$$) equipment, throw the 1000w rms with subs for $600.00 idea out the window. 1000w is not a magic number that makes things loud. For that matter all things being equal it is only 3db louder (a difference that you can perceive as noticeably louder) than a 500w rms system. Given your budget, you are far better off getting a good set of sub or single sub and an appropriate amplifier for either choice. Next off have the proper custom box made for the sub or subs and sit back and enjoy good sound. Want louder again.... it's up to 2000 watts, then 4000 watts.... starting to see how the scale works? Given your budget what is important is how it is matched together. I can price things out for you to stretch it out as much as possible for you. Update your location so we know where in Canada you are, it is nice to know what taxes need to be calculated and to get an idea of shipping costs. It also tells people who you may be near to you so that if you need a custom box made or help with a install, where we can recommend you go to.

ok well i would be willing to buy used if need be but id rather just buy new and save the hassle. 1000wrms not do-able is fine as for a box i would just need it designed i can build myself i just don't know anything about "tuning" it. If possible i would rather have 2 subs than one BUT if one better quality sub is the same price as two than i would rather the better. as i have stated i already have a RF punch and a pioneer, if that means anything, and the wiring that i assume is for 600watts
