I was looking at purchasing a set of infinity kappa 60.5cs components of ebay but they have a slight ding on one of the cones. Would this affect sound quality?

I wouldnt think so. It's not like every cone is perfectly designed for sound to begin with.

Its possible that whatever caused the impact also drove the coil into the backplate or pushed it sideways into the gap... possibly damaging the coil... not too likly, but possible....

If its just a ding in the cone you are A-OK

Thanks for the replies everyone, much appreciated. From what I can see the ding is very small so I will risk it at purchasing these components.

Just to reassure you, I have a pair of kappa perfects with the aluminum cones and more dings than I care to admit. They still sound excellent.
