I mentioned before that I was considering writing a book for car audio. I guess a few people missed that comment, but I'd like to get some input.

What I'm looking at doing is writing a book that details the art of SQ in cars. This would not be a how-to book, but more of a pictorial review of what has worked for people and why. There are lots of people that can offer great advice on how to build and tune a great SQ car, but how many high quality pictures are there?

Personally, I love looking a well composed high definition photographs of technical subjects. The term " a picture is worth a thousand words" seems inadequit sometimes when a truely breathtaking picture is viewed.

Any comments?

Dereck, thanks for your support. I could surely use your well experienced eye when detailing the finer points of SQ.

To draw yet another parallel to Formula One, there are some fantastic technical articles that detail new fabrication techniques and materials. This is the kind of thing that I feel is the future of car audio. I see many people already looking to the horizon for new materials to work with and even more elaborate fabrication technique. Once again, Formula One is a big influence on my current perspective of state of the art, and pure art from a photographic standpoint.

I'm hoping to bring a bit of art, and state of the art to the masses in the form of great photographs and detailed explainations of advanced theory.

As an example:

Many many people have tons of experience working with conventional 2 or 3 way front stages utilizing passive X.O.s. This wealth of knowledge is freely available to those that do a bit of searching on the "net". But...how many people have come across tuning and set up tips for using powerful processors like: The Pioneer P9 combo, Sony X4000 system, Rane RPM processors, Alpine H700 and H900 systems, and many others like the Alto drive 30? The knowledge pool for the combined use of digital time alignment, extremely powerful EQs, and extremely variable X.O.s seems to be really shallow. (or people are keeping their mouths shut due to competitive reasons)

Anyway, I've got lots of ideas...and a small suitcase full of pro level camera gear. I think there is a ton of stuff that could be explored that people would really enjoy reading. I think some people are quit used to me writing small novels online anyway.
