Things that make you go hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.
What, how to install a Sat Radio???
Well, I think it is funny that Sat radio in Canada (for the most part) was the newest car audio tech that came out in a long time. I know that FS did not "train" any of it's staff on the technology, how it work, what to expect....etc....etc....etc.....
The Vendors did not provide us with any type of direction (as usual) on how the install SHOULD look like in the end, on the technology, how it work, what to expect....etc....etc....etc.....
With all of that, Paul......are you REALLY shocked that "someone" install the Ant inside of the car, I'm not. It most likely worked fine on the lot, and the installer simply just did not know any better.
Just for the record......When Rob and I did the "First officall Sat Radio" for FS we installed it with the Ant on the OUTSIDE of the car, on the ROOF, at the BACK of the car, ran the wire into the car via the tailights so no wire was seen.
Today, I have learned and tried to take Sat Radio install to the next level (because FS didn't, nor did anyone else for that matter) by using Paint Protector strips on the car to avoid scratches from crap building up under the Ant......Anyone else do that or maybe people who do not use paint protect strips should fall under this same thread?
Now that I am on a rant.......I have seen installers either install the ant via the mag and or double sided tape...........I have done it both ways.......instead of critisizing lets find out how the rest of the "pros" on this site install the ants...........
Anyone?????? As I stated before, I have used double sided Tape (with no reception issues), or just the Mag itself.....and now the use of paint strips.
