XM radio in dash

II had Xm radio hooked up to my panasonic deck a while back, untill my truck was broken into and it was stolen out of it. They took the radio, but not the xm receiver. I now have an Eclipse 3100 and my local store who i bought it off said i need to buy a new receiver and everything. Then they told me they cant get it in right now and blah blah blah. SO im coming to you guys. Do i need a whole new receiver, or can i just buy the adaptor for eclipse decks and plug it back in then setup my account on it? Or are they telling me the truth. Secondly, since my deck isnt even sold in 08, shouldnt they be able to get in parts for the xm for an 07 no problem? Theyre pissing me off here..... i want my xm. Ive been without for like 6 months.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I think your going to have to use an FM modulator.. While not the best sound it is still way better then using the XM radio M transmitter.

Well i found this online.... http://www.crutchfield.com/App/Product/Item/Main.aspx?g=247350&i=700XMECL1&tp=87&tab=features_ and_specs

That looks like it would work, im just wondering since i had it hooked up already before.... would all i need be the xm adaptor cord then, or that whole package?

I don't know that it would work.. I'm not 100% sure on the rear connections if they are the same as on the AVN units then you are good if not then you bought it for nothing. Even the Eclipse web site doesn't show it.

Most of that gear is to give you the XM controls on the screen and the CD units are not touch screen.
