The Canadian Tire here in milton actually has a huge stack of our cards, everytime they sell a deck they hand out our card, if theres any question they can't answer they giveem our card, EVERY REMOTE STARTER IS SOLD WITH OUR CARD.

So why would you not install them? They work fine we almost never have a problem with them, if we do the store exchanges the product no questions asked.

We make good money thanx to them, and the follow up sales is very nice.

Even better when they get our card before they buy a unit (-:

Doing Can Tire work is a double edge sword.....They approached us a while back for us to all their work in Western Canada, trouble is with that is IF Cantire figures out how much money they can make they might just want to open their own Installation Center, and who do you think they would "head hunt" for that role? We decided that it would be best for us to look after OUR customers and let CT look after their own.

Also, what happens when there is a failure with the gear? I see a lot of time wasted while a customer has to drive back to CT after you remove the gear so they can drive back so you can install the gear. When you are in house, you just walk to the wharehouse and grab a new one......done in no time and off to the next car right now. This is the back bone of One Stop Shop, we make the money on the Product AND the Labour.

When a customer brings in a starter that is not one of ours we explain to them that the warranty on the install (wiring) is as long as they own the car and the warranty on the unit is what ever the manufacturer says so probably one year. If the vehicle comes in after installation for the starter not working or some problem related to starter, and we take it apart and it is the fault of the unit malfunctioning then they will be charged for the diagnosis time and the time we then spend fixing the problem. If fixing the problem means I have to take down a dash and re and re a unit(as in plug it in) then the customer is charged according to our $60/hour shop rate. When we explain this to a customer they 1) have no reason to bitch later if there is a problem because they were explained how the warranty will work and 2) they usually just buy our unit and 3) now they know about us and what we do so they will be a repeat customer at some point.

On the average in the 4 month span from November to February when Cantire sends me atleast 100 starter installs, and the minmum I make on each is $120 plus bypasses and keyless when I can get them, not to mention the second sales I make on some of them. So in 4 months I can make a MINIMUM of $12,000 just by working with Cantire. To me thats a big benefit, and when the bull$*it does happen I make money on that too....

Now I must explain that we do not have any kind of written agreement or even a gentlemens agreement with Cantire, they just simply reccomend people to us.

I am not trying to stir the pot by any means, just wanted to explain why for US working with Cantire is a real benefit.

I am glad to see it working for you and hope to see it continue.

With the bigger company we felt it was not in our best interest to "help" out a compeditor that could hurt us in the end.

No pot stiring here
