I say ditto Yuli. Take a look at the bottom ** areas. It conflicts with the top part of the matrix. Common sense would dictate that the # amps should not be unlimited but who knows what they finalize.

Interesting...Didn't see some of these changes coming. I agree with the conductor rule being dumb, but it restricts street cars from looking like SS cars with assloads of amps.

it's definatly still a draft.. a few things on it contradict each other.. i wouldn't worry about it until the actual rules are done, or even an official draft is completed and posted..

hmmm...looks like hes cracking down on the rules mainly in street max classes so that it doesnt resemble a SS with limited subs, amps and batteries

same page but at bottom

I don't think that an unlimited # of amps are allowed in Street.
</font>[/QUOTE]This is what it states:

"* Street A – 1-12, 2-10’s, 3-8’s / Maximum 2 Conductors Total between amp rack and sub enclosure."

no mention of number of amps.

also for street "A" in the matrix in green, it states: amps = "? unlimited" which to me sounds undecided. Wayne is probibly trying to create a buzz.I think that it will be cool tho to see people trying to push 10,000 watts on 14v!

The biggest change this year will be with regards to Street Max vehicles. These systems cannot have "walls" in the sense that Super Street vehicles have walls. Street Max enclosures do not need to pass the wall test but the enclosure cannot be connected to the roof or sides of the vehicle (other than cosmetically.) In addition, structural mods to the vehicle behind the B-Pillar cannot be made. This has been the intent of this class all along but implementation was flawed last season due to the ways the rules were written.

The amp quantity issue is pretty irrelevant in Street because of the conductor and battery limits. Currently, some manufacturers are getting around these limitations by making very large, expensive, monster amps.

The same is true with regards to quads. The conductor limit has been effective in limiting the amount of amplification that can be used.

We are re-introducing Mini Street this year. Competitors will receive 50% points value for competing in these divisions. Mini Street will not be offered at Finals but competitors who elect to move to regular classes may do so and get at least some credit for the contests they have already participated in.

I will be in Vegas for the next week.

Lethal im not sure what u are saying BUT i hope u do know that u can run more than 1 amp on only 2 conductors, thus the conductor rule doesnt really 'limit' the number of amps u can have. So...that is why it says amps are unlimited in the matrix.

U probably read this part

Street B – 1-15, 2-12’s, 3-10’s, 4-8’s / Maximum 4 Conductors Total between amp rack and sub enclosure.

which DOES NOT mean that the number of amps is limited to any specific quantity. there are infact amps that only need one conductor to operate. so basically it is physically and theoritically possible for me to have 8 3000 watt amps in street B runing off only 4 conductors.

Yup that is stupid. They should stop being retarted and leave the rules as is. So far I have read a bunch on termpro and the only people that aren't really ticked off are the ones who don't understand what is going on, the rest seem mad about the situation.

I guess that doesn't matter though, go ahead and change the rules, the competitors don't matter.
