2005 dB Drag Rules Here!
Street class amplifier rules will never appeal to everyone.
Wayne admitted that street class is not for beginners or newbies. That is a fact.
There are three ways of looking at this.
Unlimited amps, no condutor limit.
Unlimited amps, conductor limit.
One amplifier.
Scenario one: Street cars begin to look like superstreet, insane amount of money to be dropped on amplifiers, people running upwards of 16 amplifiers in a street car.
Scenario two: Large strappable amps will dominate class, insane amount of money to be dropped on amplifiers, people still running up to 8 amplifiers in street class, some laregr than other, limits use of single output amplifiers.
Scenario three (two parts): Firstly, let us assume that one amplifier means one chassis. Multiple amplifiers in one heatsink (colossus scandal), insane amount of money dropped on amplifiers, with technology ZERO limit on amplifiers to be linked inside one chassis.
Secondly, let us assume that one amplifier means one board. Manufacturers bulding multiple amps onto one board just to bypass ruling, insane amount of money dropped on amplifiers, small strappable amps have no value in any class, large JBL/Crown type amps have seriosu advantage.
As you can see, it does not matter WHAT route you go this year. The cost of street class will rival that of Super Street, and no matter what the ruling, you will always pay to play, and there will be people running 10,000 to 20,000 watts in street class this year... no matter what.
I think many people need to decide if they are going to win their class locally. On a national level, you always need the best to win. It doens't matter HOW loud you are with 1000 watts, because the peopel at the top are as loud or LOUDER with only 1000 watts, then they add another 9k to that, and bye-bye.
