I have a 93 Toyota 4x4 extended cab.

I am running an SPL setup and the equipment consists of:

Sub= Solobaric 12" L7 (4ohm DVC)
Amp= Rockford 1000BD (running at 2ohms)
HU= Panasonic MX95 (triple 4 volt preouts)
Enclosure= Slot ported (Hammerhill) 2.5 cu ft
Battery= 1200 amp
Alternator= 110amp
Wire= 2awg RF
Capacitor= 1 Farad

The current enclosure has the sub firing up

Would standing the sub up on it's edge to allow it to fire forward (aka like a wall) increase the spl? Or turn it around and have it firing right into the back wall be better? It would require a grill for that since it would be hitting the back wall. I have not had this 12" metered yet although I did have an 8" L7 in a similar enclosure (smaller) on the same setup and firing the way it is now and hit 141.0 dbs at J&A Stereo in Prince George last summer.

Lack of mic availability makes testing difficult but I thought that the experienced ones on this board might be able to help me out.

Flip it around so that the sub is on the passengers side, and the port(where is your port?) is on the drivers side with the sub still firing up. It was loudest that way in my dodge ram quadcab. Like so.......

The port is on the same side as the sub on the bottom. It is full width of the box and 2/3rds of the length.

The port opening is about a third the size of yours. Same lengthwise but 1/3 the width.

Any other opinions???????

I've never used personally or installed any kicker subs. Others on here should be able to help ya more. Get access to a mic, and test, test, and test some more. If it were me, I would play around with diff, sub and port placements, box volumes, tunings, and the list goes on and on.....

And try it without the 1F capacitor.

Face the sub upwords, and have it on the passanger side....if not build a box with the port on the opposite side! that will sound amazing!! and if the port is on the same side as the sub and is on the side, ttry firing it forward, again sub on passenger side, and also try it on your driver side like that

I have ZERO access to a mic other than when I attend an event. I have been to 3 and ran through the lanes 5 times total. So the amount of enclosure placements is limited.

Also, in DB Drag events will they let you change the placement of your subwoofer enclosure in between runs??
