Which amp?
#1
I am thinking of buying a JL 10W6v2 and mounting it in a JL HO box. I have a few questions for you veterans.
I got a price from a local shop of $700 for the sub and box plus taxes...sound about right?
Which box is better for a SQ system, the wedge or bandpass box?
The 10W6v2 is rated for optimum performance at 400 watts but the JL 500-1 is $900 plus taxes. Is this a good price?
If the 500-1 is too much what amp would work well with the 10W6v2?
Thanks for looking.

Dude don't go to Gibby's...please
I know of a much better place if you want JL
And if you want a good 500w mono amp I just might know where to find one

Thats a great combination of sub and amp. I would probably suggest going with the sealed enclosure, rather than a bandpass if you are into sound quality.
As for the prices you listed, it seems a bit expensive. I'm pretty sure you could get a better deal if you shop around a bit. (I think I've gotten too comfortable with ebay pricing though)

If you want SQ go with Sealed or even ported, tuned right. Bandpass is just a flat, sh*tty bass that comes out loud. To make a bandpass box play more tha one frequency you need to spend the cash and buy a Bass Cube or X-over when you could jus tbuy a sealed or build a ported and do it right the first time.
