I was gonna upgrade the wiring to 4awg but in my Prelude the factory wiring was already 4awg. just lucky I guess.

Something like this is the idea

For those with a newer Civic you can easily fit that size battery in there -- this is an 02' Civic LX, I just notched the tie-down and dropped it right in.

My alternator wire is stock ~8 awg at this time, of course it the stock ~65 amp alternator so I'm not concerned. I will likely utilize more amplifier power down the line and upgrade the alt as well, at which time the alt wire will become 1/0 as well. Currently I run 400 watts to my subs and a 100x4 multi-channel for the fronts so power demands aren't incredibly huge.

I've always been very impressed with GM, 105 amp alternator and an almost burnt looking 10g wire. 4g is rated for 125 amps, makes me wonder. To all those that want to use 1/0, just buy welding cable, the cheapest I've paid was something like $1.83 a foot (the most around 2.50) I've even picked up 1/0 connector for 1.50 a piece. Then either tape the ends or dish out a buck or two for some large heat shrink for the ends. Don't be shy about actually cleaning off where your grounds/connections will be with sand paper and then cleaning it off with alcohol/acetone. Other suggestions are much appreciated by me and the next guy.
