Yuli and I were discussing this today on MSN... we decided that starting in ontario, as an ontario SPL league would be a good idea, wiht a "newbie" class, restricted by the size of the main fuse, to 60 or 80 amperes, with another "newbie" class going up to say 150 amps amps.

the classes would be subdivided by cone size, and possibly enclosure type, with sealed enclosures and ported enclosures being different classes, to make it fair to those with truly introductory systems.

All "newbie" class scores to be averaged over a 30 second period, with music tracks from a competition CD. Higher class scores would be run more like dBdrags is now, with peak SPL being the measurement.

Upper classses would be run much like SPL is now, test tones, and similar classes to what is out there already.

Anyone have input?

ok guys hold tight. there will be something written down soon, currently we are taking suggestions for matrix and rules for a class that will resemble stock/street type set ups.

the rookie class has been pretty much decided.

the newbie classes would be for newbies... street beating systems who want to compete, and get involved in car audio.

these would be 12 volt systems, anyone who would run a 16 or 18 volt system is way out of the newbie class.

Why could you do something with the amount of amp power that a person is using.
Like say make a class that is 500rms and under, 500-750, the 750 -1000 stuff like that but also have the amount of subs into it.
Say a 500and under with any amount of subs that they would like to run.

there is a VERY good reason they chose not to go with amplifier power ratings......just wait till the rules and classes are drawn up

Because there are a lot of cheater amps out there that put well over their rated power
