dont use a 12 volt charger...to charge a 16 volt bank.....lol....

same as dont use 150 mile an hour tape to go 250 mile an hour....wont hold....lol

Yes, you need around 2,4V per cell.

Make a 19-20V charger.

I used to charge with a 20V home-made charger, very good deal.

thanks for the input!!!! murilo, how do i make a homemade charger? im looking into buying a 16v charger anyway but this makes me curious??? maybe show some picks and a step-by-step build process

Bart just find a big transformer with 15V output (7,5 + 7,5, like in my drawing) and strap some bid diodes... after rectification the voltage will be about 20V

If you use a non center tapped transformer you need a full bridge of diodes (4 diodes)

Use high current diodes

put the 16V battery bank in the + and - of drawing




Use a big and old transformer, with a lot of wire around, then you an scary your opponents hehehe.

Ah, make sure your amps hold 20V input...


If you use SD than you have no problems, you can even turn the amps on and BURP, but would be out of the law, hehehe.

so, i ordered my new powermaster pn1004 16v charger yesterday!!!!! should be in on the 20th. they say its good for flooded batteries and compatible with agm type aswell....yippie! i can finally charge batts properly

that alone will add a few tenths to your score...now get a big **** inverter so you can charge while driving of off your vans 12volt system

got a 250a alt with adjustable regulator for that!!! just gotta get a bracket made.....and ive done some work on the enclosure too and ive got 10 fully charged battery's unlike the 6 dead ones from last season lol
should start testing this weekend after the resin dries etc.
