does anyone in alberta have one of these beasts, and have the same problem??i'm willing to help chase down this problem.
Well wouldnt that be a great design if true, a car audio amp that is dependant on voltage above 14.4

So they designed an amp that you have to reconstruct your electrical system to run. That doesnt sound right to me. I thought they just didnt make their desired power until higher voltages. the amp is simply intended for use in super street and extreme class, not a street class amp. as simple as that. no one said it's a good desing or anything it's just a different type of an amp thats all. and if u think im wrong try this here.......u probably heard of US AMPS before and u probably know it's a supperior quality product, right? now take one of their 6000X amps and try to use it on your average 14volt set up, tell me what happens???? the amp wont even turn on is what's gonna happen...reason being it is designed for higher voltage use......im sure us amps could tell u why it's a good design. or how about the crown/jbl 6000gti amp......u think that thing will work on a 14v set up??? again the amp is ment for a 16v+ set up. perhaps ask jbl the same question. this is only 2 examples, the list could go on for abit longer.
Once again Im not saying it's a good or a better design, it's simply a different design intented for a different type of use (16v+ set ups).

voltage drop at the amp, not the problem, what about at the deck, i have shut my cd player into protection a few times,

could the deck not drive the remote wire with enuff curent to keep the amp happy?

So those companies make amps for the 1% or less that actually compete in SPL?

SOunds like a good investment to me!
